2021 has been a year filled with ups and downs for humanity as whole and Amica Finance has been no different. I know though, humanity is persistent if nothing else and we will pull through. So, what have we done…?

We’ve diversified…

We have ventured into commercial vehicle sales this year with not only a new yard but also a new office to boot. Our new premises is in Hixon with custom washing facilities, a large parking area and 24-hour security. Our new office has given us access to a large workspace for our growing team and chill out areas to keep our staff motivated. You may have seen our new pool table on social media. Come and visit for a game yourself!

It was a challenge to run both businesses whilst we moved, and we are sorry if you had to wait slightly longer than usual for us, but we can now provide even better service with our new facilities.

Staff additions…

We have added James King and Matt Coxon to our team this year to provide quicker and better service to our customers across the UK. James is based in Glasgow, Scotland and Matt in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.

Lending money is our game…

The business of lending as a commercial broker has gone up and down this year with funders adapting to a new economic climate. One with the “bounce back loan”, “CBILS” and the “RLS” scheme all being new lending products.

Many customers have thrived during the last 12 months but there are also many more who have not. This has meant funders have had to not only adapt to managing a lending book which is highly unusual but also map one for the future lending market.  A difficult task which has meant service and lending hasn’t always been what us & our and customers are used to.

However, most market are now thriving, and funders are 99% back to their usual lending characteristics.

The next challenge for them will be lending against assets which have changed significantly in value over the last few months to values most thought impossible. Trucks & trailers for example fetching more than new ones at 12 months old.

For us though we have thrived over the last 12 months with records in lending and key KPIs which is brilliant. We have had 4 best months ever this year. For that we say thank you to our customers and suppliers.

2022…. what now?           

It’s a good question.

Well, we will be adding to our team, and we are currently recruiting for a new Business Development Manager.

We also plan to diversify further this year with another market targeted for the back end of 2022. A business plan, marketing strategy and other bits are already in motion. Keep reading our blogs for updates…
